From burnout to balance : MY SELF-CARE AWAKENING
How Self-Care Changed Me from the Inside Out
I know many of you might still believe that self-care is just about skincare face masks, scrubs, and fancy creams. Honestly, I used to think that too. I thought if I just followed a routine and looked good, that was enough. But as time passed and life started to feel heavier, I realized that real self-care goes far beyond that. It’s not just what you apply to your face it’s what you feed your mind, how you speak to yourself, and the way you show up for yourself even on the bad days. When I started exploring self-care from the inside out, my life slowly began to change. My mindset became more positive, my emotions felt more balanced, and I became physically stronger and more grounded. That change wasn’t instant, but it was real. I started glowing not just on the outside, but from a place deep within. My friends noticed the difference too they asked me what happened, how I changed so much. And the truth is, I wasn’t just changing physically. I was becoming someone stronger, someone softer, and someone who finally began to understand her worth. The old version of me still exists, but now she walks beside a more confident and peaceful version of herself and I can proudly say that’s growth
My Story Before Change
A few years ago, I used to body shame people and make fun of them, thinking it was something to brag about. I even failed most of my subjects and was the only girl in my class who failed physics, but I thought that was cool too. However, everything changed when my own friends started body shaming me. That’s when I realized how painful it really is to be on the receiving end. I remember complaining to my mom about how hurt I felt because of their teasing, even though I had once done the same to others. That experience made me stop body shaming and helped me see how toxic my behavior had been. I became so insecure that I was afraid to wear jeans because of the teasing. It wasn’t until my 10th-grade vacation that I truly began to change, understanding that real strength isn’t about putting others down; it’s about kindness and respecting yourself and others.
The Version of Me I’m Proud Of
During my 10th-grade vacation, something shifted. I started to understand what real self-care meant. It wasn’t just about looking good; it was about feeling good from within. I began taking care of my body, mind, and health. I watched inspiring podcasts and videos, limited my screen time, and focused on building better habits. Slowly, my mindset started to change. The way I saw life, the way I treated myself it all transformed. My study routine improved too. I went from being the girl who failed most subjects to someone who now holds straight A’s. Ever since I truly embraced self-care, I haven’t failed in any subject. It was a complete shift from the inside out.
If I Can Change, So Can You
If I can change, you can change too. Growth begins the moment you decide to become better—for yourself. You are not defined by your past or your mistakes. You are defined by your willingness to improve, to rise, and to become the best version of yourself. Self-care isn't just about routines it’s about choosing peace, kindness, and putting yourself first every single day. You have the power to shift your mindset, create new habits, and build a life you’re proud of. I will share with you the tips, habits, and everything that helped me improve so you can start your own journey. If I could do it, you can too. And I’ll be right here, cheering you on.
Keep believing. Keep growing. Your best self is waiting.... :)
